Minister of Foreign Affairs visited Israel January 3rd-5th 2010:

Foreign Minister Milan Roćen completed a two-day official visit in Israel. The visit included meetings with H.E Mr. Shimon Peres – President of Israel, Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Avigdor Liberman and Minister of Tourism Mr. Stas Miezhnikov.

During the second day of his visit accompanied by Honorary Consul of Montenegro in Israel Mr. Nimrod Rinot, who took a very important part in the coordination of the tight schedule and in the organization of the Minister's successful visit, Minister Roćen met with representatives of prominent Israeli companies: Aeronautics, Shikun & Binui and EL AL.

In conversation with the Minister of Tourism Mr. Stas Miezhnikov both sides expressed satisfaction with the triple increase in the number of Israeli tourists in 2009 and the expectation that the mutual visitors even greater increase after the entry into force of the Agreement on visa regime between Montenegro and Israel that was signed late last year. It was found that there is a real opportunity for Israeli investors in the investment attractive tourist projects in Montenegro. He expressed his willingness to soon visit Montenegro with his Montenegrin counterpart exchanged experiences and views on the strategic directions of development, even before, he said, as tourism is the engine of economic development of the two countries.

Minister Roćen visited the headquarters of Shikun & Binui the Israeli biggest infrastructure & Construction company, which with his Greek partner run to the tender for the construction of the highway Bar-Boljare, where the deputy CEO Mr. Amit Segev & director David Berheim to discuss possibilities of further cooperation in the realization of infrastructure projects in Montenegro, light of the recent talks in Podgorica with Montenegrin representatives of relevant ministries.

He also visited a leading Israeli airline El Al, which is interested in the privatization of a Montenegro Airlines. In an interview with the newly appointed CEO Mr. Eliezer Shkedi exchanged information on the preparations for the tender and agreed upon the continuation of contacts interested parties.

Roćen Minister met with the CEO of Aeronautics, Mr. Avi Leumi, who met with the latest, electronic manufacturing programs for control and border management. Although relatively new, the company occupies a central place in this field in Israel and many countries in the world. Besides interest in cooperation with the competent Montenegrin authorities, bearing in mind the obligations of Montenegro in meeting and implementing European standards in this area, Leumi has expressed willingness to investigate opportunities to launch joint production programs in Montenegro. They agreed that for this purpose, will continue bilateral contacts at the appropriate level.

In all the discussions during the two-day visit Minister Roćen Israel participated Israeli Ambassador to Montenegro, Mr. Arthur Kole and Montenegro's Honorary Consul in Tel Aviv Mr. Nimrod Rinot.
