About The Flag

Adopted on July 13 2004, the red and golden flag of Montenegro carries at its center the "Coat of arms of Montenegro" - representing the two headed eagle in flight, symbolizing the unity of Church and state.

The "lion passant" at its center is a sign of Episcopal authority, representing the biblical theme of the resurrection, or Christ ruler of all (The lion of Judah).
